Fresh from a barn in Maine. This is an original 1998 S & S Cycles 40th.

This is motor number 88 of 400 ever made. In 1998, S & S Cycles celebrated their 40th. Anniversary in business by developing this 110SE (Special Edition) motor. 110 cubic inches, 110 horse power with 120 foot pounds of torque.

It took me several months to determine what it was, take the heads and valve train that had been removed from the bottom end and put it back together. The brand new bottom end has never been opened or started and still has the 4" bore by 4 3/8" stroke information written in magic marker on the flat top pistons. The bottom end has the original S & S Special Application cases, with matching serial numbers on both. The flywheel set has the original 088400 serial number on stamped on it.

The Super Stock heads have roller rockers and billet covers with adjustable pushrods The heads had been removed, and I believe run on another motor for a short period, as there is minor carbon in the exhaust ports. There is no valve damage, no port damage, no thread damage and no damaged fins. I have reinstalled the heads with new S & S upper gaskets and an original set of copper head gaskets. The air filter cover is not the correct one that was issued with the motor, as the original had the slotted edges.

There is some very light wear on some of the chrome due to being 20 years old, but this motor is still, over all, in excellent condition, and for 20 years old, should rate a solid 9+ or better. Any rider into big inch, high horse power Evo based S & S motors and wants a true collector motor will love this one. This needs the ignition and alternator systems of your choice as S & S does not include those options in their motors, rather leaving it to the builders choice of parts to use.
